Joe Biden’s Afghanistan withdrawal did not go well, to say the least.
Thirteen American servicemen/women were killed when a terrorist blew himself up at a security checkpoint. Over 100 Afghanis also lost their lives as thousands of people were trying to evacuate the country in hopes of finding a safe place away from the Taliban.
Gun owners in the United States are also saying that Biden’s withdrawal from Afghanistan is the death of gun control after Biden let machine guns, helicopters, and other military weapons fall into the hands of terrorists.
2nd Amendment Daily News talked to several gun owners who asked, “Did the terrorists pass a background check?” Additionally, the gun owners asked, “Did the terrorists register the weapons as Biden says that all weapons in the U.S. should be and why does Biden not seem to care about the types of weapons the Taliban just got?”
Gun owners are furious that common weapons owned in the United States such as the AR-15, AK-47, or even a Ruger .22 are considered “military-grade” weapons by gun control advocates. Yet, the U.S. government let machine guns, helicopters, and night vision goggles fall into the hands of our enemies. Gun control, the gun owners said, is officially dead after the Taliban obtained so many American weapons.
At a Press Briefing in August, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said the following about the weapons and other U.S. defense material falling into the hands of the Taliban:
Republican lawmakers were quick to go after the Biden Administration for the lost weapons.
One of those Republicans was Senator Ted Cruz (R-Texas). Cruz had blasted Biden on Twitter several times over the Afghanistan withdrawal. Additionally, Cruz also sent out a Press Release on the lost weaponry.
Cruz said in part of the Press Release,
In addition to lawmakers going after Biden for letting the Taliban obtain the weapons, 2nd Amendment activists also blasted the Biden administration.
Aaron Dorr is on the Board of Directors for the American Firearms Association. He told 2nd Amendment Daily News,
It remains to be seen what, if anything, the U.S. government will do to destroy or capture the weapons obtained by the Taliban.
In the meantime, Democrats and some Republicans in Congress are continuing their efforts to restrict the right to keep and bear arms right here in the United States.
