Iowa Lowers Handgun Carrying Age to 18 Under New Bill Signed by Governor

Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has signed HF-924 into law.

The bill lowers the age limit for Iowa gun owners to purchase and carry a firearm to 18. Iowa’s new law will not take effect until July 1.

Approximately 30 states have an age limit of 18 for carrying a handgun, though some states may require a permit.

Pro-gun advocates said that legal adults should have all their rights, including self-defense. If we are willing to send young men to war, why shouldn’t they have the right to defend themselves?

Gun grabbers said the new law would make society less safe.

Despite what gun control advocates are going to claim, history has shown that the fearmongering is nothing more than drastic hyperbole.
