It’s been a somber year for the gun control crowd after Biden and the Democrats failed to do anything to destroy the 2nd Amendment.
That wasn’t for lack of trying though as Democrats rammed several gun control bills through the Democrat-led House. The Senate was where the filibuster prevented gun control bills from making it to Biden’s desk.
Then, of course, you have Joe Biden, who can’t remember where he is most of the time, let alone have the ability to spell gun.
On top of the lack of gun control legislation making it through Congress, the gun control crowd lamented the withdraw and humiliation of the anti-gun ATF nominee David Chipman.
Chipman was humiliated in glorious fashion after his anti-gun stances were made public. Even moderate Democrats turned on him, knowing support for an anti-gun ATF nominee could end their political careers.
With that in mind, let’s get to the gun control groups whining about the lack of gun control getting passed and their disappointment in Brandon….errr, Biden.
According to The Hill, March for Our Lives Deputy Political Director Zeenat Yahya said,
We’re definitely surprised. We were really hopeful and he made a lot of promises. We are thankful for some of the actions the president has already taken but there is so much more he can do that’s a comprehensive top-to-bottom approach.”
The Giffords gun control group also expressed disappointment in Biden.
Peter Ambler, the Executive Director and Co-Founder of Gifford’s gun control group, said,
It is very difficult for any administration to sort of do enough in that context and I think indeed, we would like to see more from the Biden administration. What we need more than anything right now is a comprehensive strategy to deal with this reality, what is the plan?”
One of the oldest gun control groups, Brady PAC, said the following,
Do I think they’ve done the most of any administration? It’s not enough. They probably have done more than any other administration.”
While we are happy to see that the gun control groups aren’t getting what they want, we can’t discount that they won’t make this year the time they try to push everything they have onto the Democrat-controlled Congress.
All signs are the Democrats are in for a rude awakening this November. The odds of them losing the House are very high, and the odds of them losing the Senate are also good.
With the Democrat-controlled Congress likely gone this year, there will be even more pressure on Biden to act on his promise to go after the 2nd Amendment.
Gun owners will have their work cut out for them in 2022. Focus on your own state legislature and what they are doing, and be sure to pay attention to groups like the American Firearms Association that is fighting to stop gun control in Congress!
