Murders in Chicago have cleared the 100-person mark and, as of this writing, sit at 118.
Chicago is one of the most violent cities in the United States. It is often referred to as a war zone by many Americans.
Last year was the first year in five years that murders were less than 600, with 573 murders. That doesn’t include the thousands of others who were injured.
Of course, what gun grabbers won’t tell you is that a lot of those murders and a lot of the injuries are gang-on-gang violence or innocent bystanders hurt in the crossfire. Gangs are the leading cause of death in Chicago murders, and it isn’t even close.
Will 2025 be less than 2024 for the murder rate in Chicago? It is hard to tell at this point, and typically, the summer months see worse violence.
