Alabama Man Killed in Self-Defense Shooting, Authorities Say

Tuscaloosa, AL – A 51-year-old Alabama man was shot and killed in an act of self-defense, and a 23-year-old man was shot, according to police.

Both men were found shot at the scene when police arrived, with the 51-year-old man, identified as Reggie Coverson, deceased on the property.

Tuscaloosa police said evidence shows Coverson shot the 23-year-old victim, who has not yet been identified when a third person shot and killed Coverson.

There is no indication that the third person is facing charges, as police say it appears to have been an act of self-defense.
