The Department of Justice is investigating the long waiting times for concealed carry permits by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
According to Trump’s DOJ, there is concern that the county is violating Second Amendment rights, and this effort appears to be part of Pam Bondi’s Second Amendment task force.
The DOJ says the county is charging excessive fees and waiting too long to approve the permits.
LCSD says staffing issues are the problem and that there is no deliberate attempt to deny people their carry permits.
Given Bondi’s anti-2A history, we are still very cautious about anything she is doing with guns. However, if Trump is keeping her on a tight leash and looking to reshape his image of not being friendly to gun owners, it’s welcome news.
